Privacy policy
Last updated 12 October 2026. This policy explains how BidAI (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use bidai.com.au. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Early-access sign-ups: the email address and, if you provide one, the postcode you enter in the early-access form, plus the date you signed up.
- Suburb insights: the postcode you look up. We use it to fetch and cache suburb statistics. We don’t link it to your identity.
- Calculators: the figures you enter are used to calculate your result when you submit them. They aren’t stored, though they appear in the page address and so may appear in our standard server logs.
- Technical and usage data: like most websites, our servers automatically log technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of each request. We may also use analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used.
- On your device: if you save listings, the list is kept in your browser’s local storage. It isn’t sent to us.
Listings supplied by agencies
Real estate agencies can send BidAI their auction listings through their CRM's portal feed. These listings can include the names and business phone numbers of the listing agents. We publish only the agent details the agency provides, and only so buyers can enquire about that listing. We don't use agent details for marketing, and we delete listing data, including photos, when a listing is withdrawn or taken off the market, or when the agency asks us to.
Buyer enquiries
If you send an enquiry about a listing, we store your name, email address, optional phone number and message, and pass them to that listing's agent, which is what you consent to when you submit the form. We don't use enquiry details for anything else.
How we use it
- To send you early-access updates and product news you asked for. Every email includes a way to opt out.
- To operate, secure and improve the website, including preventing abuse and diagnosing errors.
- To understand overall usage, for example which guides are most useful.
We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run BidAI: website hosting, email delivery, data providers for suburb statistics (who receive only the postcode), and web fonts loaded from Google Fonts. These providers may store or process data outside Australia, for example in the United States. They may only use it to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
BidAI doesn’t use advertising cookies. If we use analytics, we use them to measure aggregate traffic, not to build profiles of individuals. You can block or clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings.
Storage, security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted server access. We keep early-access details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and we keep server logs only for as long as we need them for security and troubleshooting.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time. You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by replying to any BidAI email. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Age
BidAI is intended for adults researching property purchases and isn’t directed at children.
